10 YEARS IS NEVER TOO LATE
10 Years is currently touring with Korn and Mudvayne, and vocalist Jesse Hassek, is still in his infancy as a vocalist and singer. Hassek started singing in a band at the late age of twenty. With only six years under his belt, he’s become a more than capable singer and is reluctantly growing into a capable frontman. |
Before 10 Years Hassek shared the vocal duties in his old band. Hassek was in the background singing while the frontman screamed. In 10 Years, however, he said he’s still getting used to fronting a band. |
“It was something I had to grow into. It was something I had to grow into. It was something that I had to get comfortable in my own skin doing. I love writing and I love writing melodies and writing lyrics. But when it came time to step in front of stage, step on stage in front of crowds, that’s where I… I did all this for me and all of the sudden it’s for everyone else.” |
Hassek, who was the last piece to the 10 Years puzzle, added that the band has been supportive of the way he approaches his craft. |
“We all make sure that we try to help each other through our problems and our ups and downs, and I think that they were… Instead of trying to force me into being a certain type of frontman, they also knew that you can’t force me. If it doesn’t happen naturally with me it would be like horrible acting skills. it would be very generic and hokey.” |
10 Years is currently on tour in support of their new album The Autumn Effect. The band will head overseas for a bunch of dates this spring and summer, and they’re also trying to figure out when they’ll be able to work in headlline dates in the United States. |
